The turning feature of PTZ cameras must be enabled separately in the settings.
In IP cameras, rotation commands are controlled by the ONVIF protocol. If the camera connection is created with the RTSP protocol, PTZ control will not be available. Some proprietary protocols also exist – configuration of these is identical to these instructions.
In analog cameras, PTZ control uses a separate data line. In this case the control is done via the serial port of the recorder.
Enabling PTZ feature
Go to Menu > Settings > Cameras > [camera name] > PTZ tab.
IP cameras
PTZ control protocol: IP cameras connected over ONVIF will use the "Network" protocol. After selecting the network option, additional settings will appear under the protocol selection.
Pan speed: The relative horizontal speed of this camera. 1 is slow and 10 is fast. Negative value reverses the direction. 0 disables turning.
Tilt speed: The relative vertical speed of this camera. 1 is slow and 10 is fast. Negative value reverses the direction. 0 disables turning.
Zoom speed: The relative zooming speed of this camera. 1 is slow and 10 is fast. Negative value reverses the direction. 0 disables zooming.
Return to patrol: The amount of time to wait after manually controlling the camera, before resuming the interrupted patrol.
QuickPan angle: How many degrees the camera should pan when using QuickPan. The feature can be used with a joystick by binding a QuickPan command to a joystick button.
Patrol rule: When the rule is active, the selected patrol is running.
Analog cameras
PTZ control protocol: Select the protocol the camera supports.
Serial port: The recorder must have at least one serial port to control an analog PTZ camera. Select the serial port for the data line.
Address: There can be several PTZ cameras connected to the same serial port, each of them with a unique address. This address must match the address on the camera.
Pan speed: The relative horizontal speed of this camera. 1 is slow and 10 is fast. Negative value reverses the direction. 0 disables turning.
