Number of Days with Recordings
Could we get a number of days with recordings added to the main Storage tab? Right now the best to check is to manually count the days on the calendar while in playback.
Thanks for the awesome VMS!

Hey Robin,
The Storage tab actually lets you know the "Oldest recording" value, which should show how many days of recordings you have, is this what you're after?

Not exactly...
A lot of the customers we setup and manage NVRs for ask us for a total count of days they have for recordings. I'd like to see at a quick glance that I have, for example, 30 days with video and my oldest recording is 33 days ago. So my 6TB of storage gets me roughly 30 days and for whatever reason it skipped two days.
I know putting an estimated number of days before actually recording anything would be kind of pointless, as it depends on the environment and cameras. But, a running count of days as video is recorded would be a nice convenience. The "7 days in the past" in your example doesn't give the assurance that there is actually video for those days. Someone could have deleted a few days, power went out, network went down, etc.Maybe each camera could have a day counter, too. It would show exactly which camera is missing vidwo or be just visual feedback for a non-techy end user to see that a 4mp camera will record less days than a 2mp.

We are developing better statistics for recording spaces, total and per camera, so we'll add this to the list as well.
This type of count of days containing recordings should not be a hard task to implement, but it will be not very accurate method for counting how many days of recordings you can fit on the system if it counts any amount of recording from a day. It will work better when there is a continuous recording being used, but motion based can give very varying results.
