Before updating, it is recommended to backup the configuration file.
Backing up Obseron configurations can be done from Menu > Settings. You will find 2 buttons on the bottom of the settings window: Export settings and Import settings. Click on Export settings, select a location and filename, and click Save. This will export all the recorder settings to a single file that can then be imported in case something goes wrong with the upgrade.
Updating on Windows
Updating Obseron on Windows is simple – just run the setup and click Next until the setup is finished. This will keep or migrate all the settings as they were. Obseron needs to be shut down before the upgrade so all the resource files and such can be upgraded. It is also highly suggested to backup the configuration file from the old version before upgrading in case you need to downgrade back to a previous version.
