Set storage for recordings

Adding storage enables recording from connected cameras. Obseron fills the given storage and starts overwriting from the oldest recordings.

A database for recordings will be created to a first added storage partition. It is indicated by letters "DB" in its icon.  The size of the database is affected by the amount of recordings, and normally it is enough to have 5% of the total storage space reserved for it. The size of the database depends mostly on the amount of the recorded frames, approximately 150 bytes of metadata per frame are stored in the database.

Important: Running out of disk space for the database will prevent all recording!

1. Go to Menu > Settings > Storage.
    
2. Click the + icon. 
3. Select a folder from the opening dialogue window and click OK.
4. By default, Obseron will use all available space in the selected drive. You can limit the recording space with Set space selection.
5. You can limit recording time from the Storage main settings by checking Limited recording time and choosing how many days recordings are kept.

Storage settings will guide you in allocating partitions and informs you if a configuration is not recommended. If everything is in order with the recording space and database, you can move on to Add a camera.
