A camera image is an element shown in a tab which contains a video feed from a camera and a radial menu with tools and information on the camera. You can open multiple camera images to a tab and they are scaled to fit the window.
Open a camera image
Open a camera image in edit mode by clicking Edit mode (pencil icon) in the upper right corner of the window and selecting a camera from the Camera dropdown menu. Click on the name of the desired camera in the list to open the corresponding camera image in the tab.
Close camera image
Close the camera image by clicking on the camera name in the Camera menu or by clicking the cross in the upper right corner of the camera image.
Resize camera image
Resize the camera image by dragging the arrow icon in the lower right corner. The camera image can be dragged to fill several cells of the grid.
Camera image information
Recording indicator along with camera type, site, number and name are in a title bar in the upper left corner of the camera image. You can change which information is shown in Menu > Settings > Interface. The color of the label can be changed from the camera's settings in Menu > Settings > Cameras > (camera name) > Tag color. Right click on the camera image in edit mode to open the radial menu and select Info to show additional info.
Zooming
Zoom in and out digitally (the image becomes pixelated when zooming in) by using the scroll wheel on your mouse while on top of the camera image.
If the camera of the camera image is a controllable PTZ camera and PTZ control protocol is set in the camera settings, the scroll wheel of the mouse controls the camera’s optical zoom (image stays sharp when zooming in). In recordings zooming in and out is always digital. A crosshair appears on the image showing + when zooming in and - when zooming out. Numeric keypad + and - can also be used to control the zoom in PTZ cameras. To zoom in digitally on a PTZ camera, hold Ctrl while scrolling with the mouse wheel.
PTZ control
A PTZ camera can be controlled by dragging the mouse pointer across the camera image, by pressing directional buttons on a keyboard, or with a joystick. The direction and speed can be controlled using the camera settings in Menu > Settings > Cameras > (camera name) > PTZ. Select PTZ control protocol to access speed settings. In most cases the protocol is Network.
Peek mode / fullscreen mode
Clicking a camera image will bring it to either peek or fullscreen mode. You can determine which from Menu > Settings > Interface > Click action.
