You can use the timeline to navigate recordings and make video clips. The recordings of the shown camera images are shown as bars on the timeline. The timeline is hidden by default, but you can make it visible by clicking the icon in the upper left corner of the window, or by using the keyboard shortcut T. The timeline is specific to a window and can be used to navigate the camera images of the tab that is currently open.
You can change the timeline clock to a 24-hour display by entering the command invert1224 into the cheat dialog. To open the cheat dialog, hold shift and double click the menu on the upper left corner of the window. Restart Obseron to apply the change.
View recordings
By default, the timeline is in the Live mode which shows the image in real time. Navigate to recordings by clicking and dragging the timeline or by clicking the play buttons. The camera images will show the recordings synchronized by time. You can change the scaling of the shown timeframe using the scroll of your mouse when the mouse pointer is on the timeline.
Playback buttons
The playback buttons can be used to adjust the play speed and direction of the playhead on the timeline. Play forward and Play reverse buttons change into a Stop button when playback is started in the direction in question. Next frame and Previous frame buttons let you move frame by frame. Rewind and Fast forward buttons can be clicked multiple times for even faster speed. The keyboard shortcuts for all these buttons can be found from Menu > Settings > Keyboard Shortcuts.
Navigate to a specific date and time
Navigate to a specific date and time by clicking the time or date.
Select the preferred date and time from the window that opens and click Close. The dates that are marked with a circle contain recordings.
Slices
By adding a slice to a specific point in time you can easily come back to it at another time. Click Add slice , use the keyboard shortcut B.
A slice will appear on the timeline in the location indicated by the playhead. You can rename the slice by right clicking it and selecting Rename Slice....
You can view all slices by clicking the List Slices icon on the timeline, from where you can also rename them. Slices can also be browsed by clicking the Next Slice and Previous Slice
buttons.
Slices can be used to mark areas for making video clips and backups. Start slice by right-clicking the timeline.
Select Begin Slice from the context menu. A placeholder for the selection start point will appear on the timeline. Move to the desired location on the timeline and end the slice by selecting End Slice from the context menu.
To remove a specific slice, activate it by clicking on it with the left mouse button, then right-click to open the context menu and select Delete Slice
Export a video
A slice can be saved as a video with a maximum length of 120 minutes. Rright-click to open the context menu and select Export Video. A window will open where you can select options for resolution and save location. You can also create a time-lapse video of a slice longer than 120 minutes by selecting Export Time-lapse video. Save the video clip by clicking Save.
Backup file
A slice can be saved as a backup file which includes recordings and camera images. Right-click to open the context menu and select Backup from Slice. Select the save location in the window that opens and click Save.
